It is a sterile hemostatic dressing made of purified bovine tendon collagen and consists of HeliPlug 3/8" x 3/4" Absorbable Collagen Wound Dressing. It is designed for use in dental and other surgeries. It is best applied to wet extraction or biopsy sockets, securing the clot and protecting the wound surface from external trauma. The collagen matrix is tissue-friendly and biocompatible with the body's natural wound healing process. HeliPlug is an excellent post-op accessory because it facilitates the formation of blood clots, reducing the incidence of dry socket or infection. Each unit pack is individually packaged for sterility and convenience, and on average gets resorbed within 2-4 weeks of placement, thus avoiding any chances of removal.
