Biodentine Replacement Material

Biodentine is a novel material developed to emulate the physical properties of dentine. It is versatile for both crown and root restorations. Properties develop within one hour and are similar to the properties of sound dentine, hence enabling the material to replace damaged tissue quite effectively. Biodentine is very convenient in single-visit procedures and allows for composite restoration during the same appointment. Since it is highly biocompatible and bioactive, its basic composition consists of monomer-free minerals of high purity that favor pulp vitality by reducing postoperative sensitivity. This material also presents color stability with little or no risk of tooth discoloration.
