The ADS AA6688 Surgical Chair is a multi-section powered patient-positioning platform designed for oral surgery, implant procedures, examinations, and other clinical treatments requiring more positioning flexibility than a conventional dental chair. Its independently adjustable sections, extended leg support, handheld controller, and foot control allow the clinical team to position the patient before or during a procedure.
Unlike a standard dental chair with a fixed leg section, the AA6688 uses powered backrest, seat, and leg-support adjustments. This segmented design can support upright consultation, reclined treatment, and specialized procedural positions while preserving working space around the patient.
Powered Multi-Section Positioning
The AA6688 uses four powered movements to control table height, backrest angle, seat-cushion angle, and the leg-support section. Each movement can be adjusted independently using either the handheld controller or the foot control.
Four programmable positions allow frequently used procedural setups to be stored and recalled. Dedicated stop and reset functions provide additional control when repositioning the patient.
- Powered table-height adjustment
- Powered backrest adjustment
- Powered seat-cushion adjustment
- Powered leg-support adjustment
- Four programmable positions
- Stop and reset controls
- Handheld controller and foot control
Access for Surgical and Specialty Procedures
The articulated back, seat, and leg sections allow the patient’s posture to be adjusted around the procedure instead of relying only on whole-chair recline. The extended leg support and open base design help preserve room for the clinician, assistant, stools, and procedural equipment.
The headrest can extend to accommodate different patient heights and can be angled downward for procedural positioning. The leg-support section also extends to provide a longer support surface when needed.
- Segmented support surface for procedural positioning
- Telescoping headrest with approximately 150 mm of travel
- Headrest angle adjustment to approximately -30 degrees
- Extending leg support with approximately 180 mm of travel
- Maximum backrest angle shown at approximately 80 degrees
- Open design intended to preserve clinician legroom
Patient Support and Accessibility
The AA6688 includes separate cushions for the head, back, seat, and leg sections. Rotating arm supports can be positioned for patient support and moved as needed for entry, exit, or clinical access.
The chair is intended for use with one patient at a time under the supervision of qualified clinical personnel. ADS’s current installation manual lists a working safety load of 170 kg, approximately 375 pounds. The load must remain properly distributed across the support surface.

Mobility and Placement
The AA6688 is equipped with casters so it can be moved within the treatment environment when unoccupied and handled according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Locking pedals at both ends secure the casters when the chair is placed for use.
Although the chair is movable, it is a substantial piece of powered clinical equipment rather than a portable field chair. The net weight listed in the current ADS manual is approximately 140 kg, or 309 pounds.

- Caster-lock pedals at both ends
- Approximate net weight: 140 kg or 309 pounds
- Approximate overall extended length shown by ADS: 83.1 inches

Is the ADS AA6688 Right for Your Practice?
The AA6688 is best suited to practices performing oral surgery, implant placement, specialty examinations, or procedures that benefit from independently adjustable body sections. It provides positioning capabilities beyond those of a conventional hydraulic dental chair, but its footprint, intended procedures, electrical requirements, accessories, and installation environment should all be reviewed before purchase.
Confirm the current electrical specification, upholstery availability, included accessories, working load, freight requirements, and installation plan with Supply Doc before ordering. Product specifications can change, and the chair should be selected and installed for its intended clinical use.
